Changing category URL in the online store


You can change the default category URL so it works best with your SEO routine.

Changing category URL in the online store

1. Open the settings of your site and access the Category section in Your store tab:

2. Choose a category, click on the three dots and select Edit from the dropdown:

3. In the opened window navigate to the SEO tab:

4. Proceed to the category URL section and enter a new one:



Note that:

  1. You cannot change the system part of the category URL (for example, https://yourdomain.com/shop/) — this is defined by the domain you connected to your website.
  2. Previous category URL works as a 301 redirect to the new one.
  3. It is not possible to reuse the previous URL (neither in this category nor in another). If the URL becomes archived, it will forever remain a 301 redirect to the new link for this category. It is not possible to remove a URL from the archived list.
  4. Subsequent changes to the category name do not affect its URL.
