Connecting Messenger to Your Site


Facebook Messenger is an instant messaging app and platform from Meta. You can connect a Messenger bot to your contact forms and online store to receive notifications of new submissions and orders from your customers.

Connecting Messenger to Your Store

Step 1. Accessing the Chat ID

1. Sign up or log in to your Messenger account.


2. Open your site settings, go to Your Store settings and then to the Notifications tab:



3. Just below, find the section Messenger notifications and open the link to the bot by clicking on @site_notify_bot

...or you can open the bot on your mobile device using the QR code by clicking the icon above the phrase "Chat ID":
You can also find the bot directly in Messenger by searching for "Site Builder Notifications".

4. After opening the bot in Messenger, send a message /start to get started, then copy the received Chat ID:

5. Return to your site settings in the Notifications tab, paste the copied Chat ID into the indicated field and click Connect:
6. Publish your site for the changes to appear live.

Done! Now, you will start receiving the following messages from the bot each time a client submits an order in your store:

Connect Messenger to Contact Forms

To be notified in Messenger when someone sends you a submission through the contact form on your site, follow these steps:


1. Log in to your Messenger account.


2. Go to Site Settings, section Manage Forms, go to the Integration tab and find Messenger in the list:




3. In the Messenger section, open the link to the bot by clicking on @site_notify_bot:

You can also find the bot directly in Messenger by searching for "Site Builder Notifications."

4. After opening the bot in Messenger, send the /start message to get started, then copy the resulting chat ID:

5. Go back to your site's contact form settings to the Integration tab, paste the copied Chat ID into the field, and click Connect:
6. Now, you should open the settings of the contact form you need in the editor by clicking on it and going to the Integrations tab. There you need to toggle on the Messenger switcher for this form to start sending requests to Messenger:
7. Publish your site for the changes to appear live.

Done! From now on, you will receive the following messages from the bot every time a customer submits a contact form on your site:
